Who can apply to ACASS?
ACASS is open to interested applicants with curiosity and commitment. No prior creative experience or portfolio is required to apply.
Is there a cost to enrol?
ACASS courses are designed to be accessible. Some specialist workshops may have optional material costs depending on the production brief.
Can I take more than one course?
Yes. Applicants are encouraged to explore multiple disciplines. However, we recommend completing one course before adding another to ensure you can commit to each production brief properly.
What happens to my work after the course?
Work that passes the ACASS review process may be published to the portfolio section of the platform and featured in the ASM Media Hub - giving you a shareable, public record of your creative output.
Do I need my own equipment?
Available equipment depends on the course pathway and production brief. Applicants are welcome to use personal devices where relevant. Specific kit requirements are shared at course orientation.
Are courses available online or in person?
Most ACASS sessions are held on campus at iYunivesithi Walter Sisulu. Some supporting content is available digitally through the platform. Blended delivery options are under review for 2026.
